Worcester

Worcester will celebrate its tercentennial (300th birthday) over the first weekend in June. City leaders and other civic boosters will announce new festivities planned for the anniversary on Tuesday. The city has already announced a parade, road race and more.

Marlborough

The Marlborough City Council on Monday will hear from Mayor Arthur Vigeant about a $25,000 grant from the state Attorney General's office that will help residents pay home heating bills. The grant will stretch over the next three years. Marlborough residents who are struggling to pay heating bills can contact the Human Services office.

Milford

The New Jersey-based sub chain Jersey Mike's will soon open a shop in Milford at 128 Medway Road (Stop & Shop plaza). The owners will go before the Milford Select Board on Monday to get a common victualler license, typically one of the final steps before a restaurant can open.

Westborough

The committee reviewing the design of the Westborough town seal will close its survey on Thursday. The current town seal features a "pie crust" border with a picture of the cotton gin (its inventor, Eli Whitney, was born in Westborough). Any town resident can provide feedback about updates here.

Sudbury

Monday is Election Day in Sudbury. Here's everything you need to know about the 2022 election.

Shrewsbury

The Shrewsbury Community Preservation Committee on Tuesday will hold a public forum focusing on how the town should spend CPA funds. Property owners pay a surcharge on property taxes to fund the CPA, which can be used to pay for everything from new parks to affordable housing. See details here.
